Hey, Everybody!
Today is March and it is National Women’s History Month! This year, we will be learning about women of color with an emphasis on African-American women. For me, this is a time for us to learn about African-American women in a way that’s different from our Black History Month studies. In February, we focus more on what Diasporans or Africans accomplished for the greater good of our people. In March, I like to focus on how women have served other women, women breaking glass ceilings, and/or how women have shocked their nation or the world with their accomplishments. I also like to discuss the role of women in the community and how beneficial the woman is.
I created a set of calendar cards for March Women’s Month! I will be learning about a few women myself! Here is what the calendar cards will include:
- 22 Historical Figures (one for each business/school day in March)
- 8 “Did You Know?” facts (one for each Sat/Sun except March 11)
